Local search depends heavily on your GMB listing, citations and reviews. Citations are mentions of your business name, address and phone number across the web. Provide plenty of high resolution photos on your GMB account. Make sure your business hours are correct because Google will show your business as open or closed. When you build links for a local business, look for local linking opportunities. Local blogs, Chambers of commerce, FB communities and more can provide you with a link. Most of the places to get local links are not authority sites, which is fine as Google does not expect Forbes to mention local restaurants. It usually much easier to get local links.

Content is still king when it comes to local SEO. Talk about the community's assets, such as a local sports team which one or more of your employees play on. If you have a restaurant, you can talk about getting takeout to visit a local park for a picnic. Don't create overly promotional content, make it mostly about the park and its features.
