Each of those seven pages has content consisting of only 100 to 150 words. The boss wants SEO put into it. The programmer says that there is not enough content to bother. This programmer wants to know if they are right or if the boss is. The community responded in a helpful way. One person commented that the programmer is right. The first step is building up a bank of quality content, adding SEO to it as they do it. Links and SEO at this point will not help. Another person replied with a comment that blog content is essential to providing new and relevant updates to a business site, even if the seven main pages stay the same. Since this site is a law site, one person recommended adding links to authoritative sites in the new blog content. This could help with SERPs. Another person commented that because the site in question is for a law firm, it is possible that local law firms come up when a consumer does a search. This person suggested that the programmer test out this theory before making any big site changes. Separately, a person noted that when they were looking for a reputable law firm, they only considered those with up-to-date blog content that was relevant and authoritative. Looking at another angle of the programmer's question, one person noted that since the boss wants international people to find the site, certain keywords do need to be targeted. This person believes that the best way to do that is through landing pages.
