Lack of Information as to why Online Keyword Research is Efficient
A person who does SEO marketing wanted to know what methods other SEO marketers use for researching the keywords used by their competitors. The person stated that they had been repeatedly told they need to do this in order to achieve a higher SERP than the competition, but nobody says how to do it efficiently. A marketer could end up spending an inordinate amount of time on keyword research if they are not planning the project well.
One person suggested Uber as a free tool. Another person pointed out what the limitations of it are, but they did second it as a good, efficient and free option for a person to use. Another person had a short list of different recommendations, but they did not say anything specific or explain what made any of those tools an efficient choice.
Another person created a sort of game plan for the original poster. They said to use Google Chrome's Incognito mode. The person should use their target keyword and note the top results for it. Then they could use those URLs and use the free tool Google Keyword Planner or the paid tools SEMrush and Ahrefs in order to get the keywords used by those competing websites.
A different person made a list of about 10 different keyword tools for the original poster to check out. Again, they did not share what made any of those tools efficient, but they did say that all of those tools were free.
Another person claimed that the best way to find the competition's keywords is to go to their blog. This person outlined some additional steps to take. The person did not say why they should go to the competition's blog or what the original poster should do if the competitor does not have a blog or the blog is only rarely updated.
Most people consistently pointed out the same few tools, but none of them explained what made any of them the most efficient choice. Most of the people also did not share their method for doing the research; they only shared the tools.
