Beware of Black Hatters Who Could Steal Content and Rankings
Website and blog owners who post interesting, original and well researched content should rank high in the SERPs, but their coveted position generally does not last. Black hatters steal their content, spin it, and then use it in their private blog networks. Webmasters find it frustrating when black hatters get away with stealing content for link building purposes. Google says that they are against artificial link building, but it still occurs. PBNs still exist and Google has a tough time detecting them. One person who creates and uses blogs to link to their money site owns a PBN. They buy expired domains in their niche and drip content into them. Black hatters can have dozens of websites in their PBN, which will need a continuous stream of content. It's impossible to write that much quality content and too expensive to buy; stealing it is much easier. PBN owners have gotten smarter; they are careful not to leave digital footprints for Google to find. Signs that a blog is part of a PBN include private domain owner information in the WHOIS database, a blog is on the same IP as other suspected sites in the PBN, the sites all link to one other site and the sites look very similar. Everyone in the SEO industry knows this is happening; the quality of Google's top ranking websites in certain industries is abysmal. Unfortunately, Google has the majority of the search market. There are a few black hat SEO companies that maintain PBNs in popular blog niches; their customers never know that their new backlinks come from these networks. They frustrate the white hat SEO agencies. Some webmasters have started concentrating on social media for website traffic and creating video, which is harder to steal, but not impossible. It's been done before, when a diet pill company stole another company's video, including customer testimonials, and substituted their company name. The company that created the original video had to get relief from the courts. For more information click here https://www.reddit.com/r/SEO/comments/8q67ka/theytookthefightoutofme/.
